Maldon U3A

Past Social Events - Jazz Evening, 2005

About 90 Maldon U3A Members asembled in the Maldon Town Hall for a repeat performance of the previous years successful Jazz Evening.

David Arnold introduced the evening and welcomed the Downholm Jazz Band to play for us.

3 tables were laid out with flowers, wine and munches. Unfortunetly there was no space for dancing - look, listen & enjoy.

A number of well known jazz numbers were played and then the lovely Laura was introduced.

After the break a number of classic Jazz numbers were rendered including the Irish ditti "Galway Bay", New Orleans, Basin Street Blues (which is under water at present) and a rendering of "Two old maids were sitting on a rock....". The evening went far too quick for the audience.
